Your generous donation helps us support the missions of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. As an Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) accredited institution, the zoo is entrusted with the care of some of the most vulnerable species on earth and with the duty and honor to protect and care for them, educate visitors about them and help save them from extinction.

The Friends of the Zoo supports this vital work and offers many ways that you can help!

  • Make a Memorial Contribution. You can remember a loved one or pay tribute to someone special through a tax-free contribution to Friends of the Zoo. Options include dedicating a leaf on our Tree of Life horticulture fund, supporting a zoo exhibit, tribute garden or bench.

  • Sponsor an event. Whether in-person or virtual, events at the zoo are memorable and unique. Best of all, your meeting, social or team-building event benefits the animals of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo!
  • Sponsor an exhibit! Corporate sponsors may choose to fund a zoo exhibit for a period of years, extend support for an exhibit feature or even name an exhibit.
  • Sponsor an education program. Whether on-site, mobile or virtual, zoo education programs reach thousands of children and adults each year with lessons on wildlife, nature and conservation. Sponsor a class, program or education activity that speaks to your company.
  • Become a zoo partner. Our corporate partners have long-term relationships with the Friends of the Zoo that are tailored to highlight the interests of both parties. Let’s discuss how we can work to benefit our community together!

GROUPS can …

  • Fundraise – Unite your scout troop, sports club, veterans’ group or civic group around a shared cause on behalf of the zoo.

Ways to Help

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo has closed its doors to the public and sent all non-essential staff home due to the COVID-19 health emergency.

Our animal care staff are going above and beyond to care for our zoo residents. They have come up with countless innovative ways to keep every animal in their care content and active in the absence of our visitors. I am so proud of the devotion of each and every one of them!

It is difficult to forecast when we may be able to welcome the public back. Until then, please rest assured that the animals are doing very well and we will be sharing all the exciting news of births, training accomplishments, etc. with all of you as they happen.

We are receiving inquiries from our wonderful supporters as to how they can help during this difficult time. The best way to help right now is to send us gift cards for, Wegman’s or Home Depot and Lowe’s – those are our go-to spots for enrichment items and materials, supplies, food items and treats.

If you would like to do so, please visit any of the links below to have a gift card sent to us via mail or email.
